2008 Silacci Vineyard Pinot Noir
The Vineyard: Silacci Vineyard is planted to 12 acres of organically farmed Pinot Noir in Monterey County. The marine influence from the Pacific keeps morning temperatures cool, but the southeast exposure brings plenty of sunlight to ensure ripening over the extended growing season. The own-rooted vines are planted at an elevation of 400 ft. in extremely well-draining and nutrient depleted Arroyo Seco sandy loams. Yields here are low with just over 2 tons per acre.
Tasting notes: Dark ruby red color. Beautiful density to nose, this elegant wine begins with red cherry and then more dark fruits come through on the mid-palate. Smooth mouthfeel on entry with a solid structure from the 667 clone. Creamy notes fill mid-palate while characteristic baking spices, and rich dark fruit flavors linger. This wine will withstand aging and grow more complex and beautiful over time. Drink over the next 5-7 years.
Only 100 cases produced.

2008 La Encantada Pinot Noir
The Vineyard: Located on the cooler west side of Sta. Rita hills, La Encantada was planted in 2001 by Richard Sanford -- the "Godfather" of Santa Ynez Pinot Noir. Here, the mountains run east to west, funneling troughs of chilly temperatures and fog in from the coast. La Encantada, the first certified organic site in Santa Barbara, is planted to a range of Dijon clones on devigorating rootstock that produce tiny clusters with yields hovering around 2 tons per acre. The result is cherry, earth and spice -- everything you'd want out of Sta. Rita Hills Pinot.
Tasting notes: Medium garnet in color with red fruit, vanilla, and just a hint of leather and smoke. Solid backbone of bright acidity and polished tannins, following through with into a nice creamy mouthfeel and good concentration. Drink over the next 5-8 years.
Only 100 cases produced.

2008 Split Rock Chardonnay
The Vineyard: Split Rock Vineyard is in Petaluma Gap nestled on the western hillside of Sonoma Mountain, leaving it exposed to the cool
ocean breezes that funnel through the Petaluma wind gap throughout the growing season. The vineyard is managed following the best practices laid out in California’s Code of Sustainable Winegrowing Practices. This less intrusive approach of sustainable winegrowing is environmentally responsible and increasingly recognized as vital to a terroir-based winegrowing philosophy.
Tasting notes: Pale yellow color. Wonderful aromas of citrus (lemon custard) and hints of tropical notes (pineapple, passion fruit, grapefruit), and just a subtle hint of crème brûlèe. On the palate, the wine has a soft, smooth entry with good tropical notes and a solid acid backbone at its core. The wine fills the palate but shows elegance and restraint as the oak is completely in the background with a nice, rich lingering finish.
25 cases produced. $39
Due to the extremely limited production, the 2008 Chardonnay is only available to wine club members at this time. For information on joining the wine club, visit our Membership page or contact us for more information.

2009 Catie’s Corner Vineyard Viognier
Catie's Corner Vineyard is located in the Russian River Valley, this cool climate site is planted on 110R rootstock with an unnamed Condrieu clone. We work closely with the grower, Saralee Kunde, to custom farm a block using organic viticulture and keep yields extremely low by dropping nearly half the fruit to create extremely intense wines. Wines from the vineyard, named after Saralee's daughter, offer pronounced citrus and floral characteristics balanced by vibrant acidity. Our 2009 Viognier is a beautifully aromatic wine with apricots, peaches, citrus and wildflowers on the nose. With a rich mouthfeel and bright acidity, this is a wonderfully expressive Viognier that will keep you interested. Our version has been aged in stainless to allow the natural characteristics of the varietal to show through. Bottling will be on February 26, 2010 and the wine will be released in the spring.
Only approximately 25 cases will be produced! $39
